Brother to Brother
"Train up a child in the way he should go and when he is old, he will not depart from it." Proverbs 22:6 "Hereby perceive we the love of God, because he laid down his life for us, and we ought to lay down our lives for the brethren. But whose hath this world's good, and seeth his brother have need and shutteth up his bowels of compassion from him, how dwelleth the love of God in him. My little children, let us not love in word, neither in tongue, but in deed and in truth." 1 John 3:16-28
The lord has laid on our hearts that we need men in our church to be personable, and to reach out and start the healing of our young men and teenagers. To mend the holes that this world and this our society has ripped into our hearts, minds and souls. We need to know the truths, we need to know how to say "No", and to be admired for our strong will to do so. We need men to emulate Christ, so we can be Christ like in our homes and as men in our own families.
Ø Call men out to serve in this ministry Ø Ask the young men to select one of the men they would like to mentored by Ø Consider using this ministry along with other existing ministries Ø Set a day and time to get together regularly to establish a relationship and to encourage trust and openness Ø Stay in touch with the Pastoral staff regaurding the activities and time spent together to ensure accountability Ø Insure that safety and trust for the ministry is based on solid biblical values Ø Lies hide the truth and wounds that will never heal in our souls if we are confused about our own relationship with God. Ø Therefore if we as men are not willing to yield ourselves as servants, we will surely be lost and have no one to blame but ourselves.
